Tournament Rules & Regulations
Tournament hours will run from safe light to an agreed-upon weigh-in time, determined prior to blast-off and subject to flights. Blast-off order will be based on order of entry. Late penalty: 1 pound per minute. Contestants more than 5 minutes late will be disqualified. There is a 5-fish limit (largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass accepted). Culled fish must be released immediately. No dead fish may be culled. Dead fish penalty is 4 ounces per dead fish. Fish must measure at least 14 inches on a golden rule. Short fish result in the loss of that fish plus the largest fish from your bag. Only artificial baits are allowed; no live bait. If sight fishing, fish must be caught inside the mouth in a conventional manner. No snagging. No fishing within 50 yards of another contestant, anchored or otherwise, unless both parties agree. Contestants must wear a USCG-approved life vest at all times when the combustion engine is running. No alcoholic beverages are permitted in boats during tournament hours. Any protests of another competitor must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of the conclusion of weigh-in. Payback will be based on one place for every five boats entered. Polygraph exams may be given to top finishers and at random. Tournament committee decisions are final.
